A: Involuntary hospitalization, which occurs without the patient's consent at the request of a family member or legal guardian, is permitted by law in Brazil only in specific situations and must follow strict legal and ethical protocols. At the Silva Rehabilitation Institute, we understand the complexity and sensitivity of this process. Even so, as a matter of practice, our preference will always be for voluntary treatment methods, respecting the patient's autonomy. Involuntary hospitalizations are considered only when absolutely necessary and must be accompanied by a medical report justifying the urgency. It is important to emphasize that carrying out involuntary hospitalizations without due legal compliance may be considered illegal and contrary to the patient's rights. Therefore, we guarantee that all procedures adopted in our clinic are in full compliance with current legislation, always prioritizing the ethics and well-being of our patients.
